I’ll be the first to say I understand why Lord of War died at the box office. Nicolas Cage was the movie. Yeah, there were a couple others running around, but that’s pretty ancillary. This movie is a great character portrait, and Nicolas Cage is the great character. I highly recommend this to anyone who cynically enjoys politics.

[UPDATE] I own this movie now… It’s pretty much one of my favorite movies after a few bajillion viewings.
