Babel
Babel was one of those movies that started out bad, but I thought might finish strong. It didn’t. Brad Pitt was unconvincing, Cate Blanchett – who is one of the best actresses around – was not given an acting role, so added nothing to the production. The plot lines were jagged, and while they eventually tied together and intersected, the Deus Ex Machina ending was… Cheap. There is nothing I have positive to say about this. If you’re an emo, you’ll probably love the existentialism you can read into various ‘butterfly flapped it’s wings’ events, but this movie left me feeling miserable.. And not Lord of War miserable, meaninglessly miserable.
