NY Alert
I take back almost every bad thing I’ve said about NY Alert. Being awoken to my cell phone telling me I didn’t have to go to work was nice. Too bad I can’t go back to sleep after my cell phone goes off, and I was in by 7:30. Oh well, at least I knew I could wear jeans, and it’s nice for everyone ELSE.
I did say “almost”: I still have serious concerns about abuse of the system. It would be trivial for even mildly intelligent individuals to forge the NY Alert messages. A moderately intelligent individual would stand a good chance of never being caught, and a reasonably intelligent person would not have any concerns at all, and could cancel classes/work at will.
That isn’t an admission of pre-meditation. I’ll be here anyway.
