Vista vs. XP … Shut it, already
People who, by-in-large, have never USED it. I work with people who have never touched Vista (or barely) and gripe and moan about it. That’s like me griping and moaning about .. oh, I don’t know .. a Kyocera copier. I’ve never used a Kyocera copier. I’m sure I could drudge up arguments on the Internet that they’re horrible if I felt like it… Just like the pundits do with anything else.
I’m not defending Vista, nor claiming it to be “better” than XP. But USE it. USE IT. BEFORE you spout off about this or that.
Does Apple still sell or release updates for MacOS 9?
Does IBM still sell or support the PS/2?
Nope. These companies are businesses. They do what they do, and it’s up to the market to either reward them, or punish them, for the decisions they make.
If you don’t “like” Vista (because you’ve probably never used it, just engaged in Internet mobthink), then go get a Mac. Or use OS/2. Or Linux.
You’ll still have plenty of things to ignorantly complain about, to be sure.

Well, two people you work with do, at least. It’s been my primary Windows OS on my PC down at the Helpdesk and I run it virtualized in Parallels on my Mac. Don uses it as his primary OS at home (the 64 bit edition) on his newest custom rig he built. For it to be even usable, you really need to 2GB of RAM dedicated (I have 3, Don 4.) Even still, I have a vanilla install of it (and reinstalled it too!) and every 2-3 days like clockwork I need to reboot because I am “low on memory.” Wha..?

To be sure it DOES suck (per paragraph 2)… I’m just tired of hearing it from people who’ve never seen it.

Well, yes. As a Mac user too, I know what you mean. There are people who think anything with an Apple logo sucks – and they’ve never touched anything with one. Informed opinions along with personal preferences are fine, it’s the uninformed ones that rub me as raw as you.
