The Northern Presidentials
[This post is based on my trail journal for the day in question. Parts may be redacted or expanded as memory and whim dictate]
Last night was brutal. I actually slept upright out in the common area with the thru-hikers to avoid the synchronized snoring of a couple of guys directly across from me. I summited Washington under heavy cloud cover, and went on through the others to Madison Springs in heavy cloud and occasional rain. I sent my parents a postcard from the summit, and got pics of the Cog before the rain picked up and I moved on.
