Fear.com, and Star Wars Episode III are all that come to mind… Oh, and now Hairspray. Christopher Walken was really the only reason I even tolerated it, as seeing Michelle Pfeiffer as a racist wasp pageant mom was just … ugh. This would’ve been direct-to-DVD if it didn’t have John Travolta in drag.

Ratatouille was a cute, whimsical, well-rendered “you can do anything you want as long as you want it bad enough [and have some talent]” Pixar flick. The intro short was called Lifted, and was exceptionally giggly as well. :)

Michael Bay did an exceptional job with Transformers.  Shia LaBeouf (who was the comic relief in Constantine) did a great “lead” role, the FX were second-to-none, the action was great, the plot was … well … ok that was a little weak, but the execution of the plot was very well done. There were some flubs: mainly places where a character said “it’s an X” when what we were seeing were Y’s … Where X = Air Force One (a Boeing 747) and Y = C135, X = F-22 and Y= F16, X=Predator and Y=Global Hawk, etc. But hey! No NitPicking

Great job, and a well deserved homage to the real deal. My only unwavering criticism is that there weren’t enough robots. For the sequel, I want dozens. :)

I’m not a fan of Josh Hartnett but this was his best acting job so far, IMHO. Hilary Swank isn’t attractive to me, but she played a pampered psycho well. Scarlett Johansson was yummy. The smoking throughout this movie was quite vile. I know it was a period-movie, and that it acurately reflected the period. I just hate smoking and it turned me off frequently.

This has some elements that I think would exist, but the amount of “why can’t things ever go right?” in this movie are overwhelming. The ending, was exceptionally emotional, and horrible. Clive Owen did a great job as Theo, and it’s always a treat to see Michael Caine these days. :)

Other than that, this was pretty dry: But a movie founded on gossip and conjecture about tabloidesque issues and Royalty generally will be. Great acting though- Really great acting.

It didn’t. Brad Pitt was unconvincing, Cate Blanchett – who is one of the best actresses around – was not given an acting role, so added nothing to the production. The plot lines were jagged, and while they eventually tied together and intersected, the Deus Ex Machina ending was… Cheap. There is nothing I have positive to say about this. If you’re an emo, you’ll probably love the existentialism you can read into various ‘butterfly flapped it’s wings’ events, but this movie left me feeling miserable.. And not Lord of War miserable, meaninglessly miserable.
