Putting aside that I’m a technology geek, Harrison Ford was so awful in this role, that my mom would have said “Um, can he do that?” For me, Firewall was so painful I laughed. Horrible acting, horrible dialogue, unbelievable “tech”, and most importantly- The movie has nothing to do with, or about, or anything related to: A firewall! The entire series of trailers made it seem they kidnapped his family so he’d “hack” the system he built- When in reality the system he built wasn’t even in use because of a merger! My god! Horrible, horrible move. Don’t see it. I beg.

I have to ask? What was the point of Freedomland? Was it to paint Julianne Moore as a creepy-as-all-fuck psychotic [ex]-mom? Was it to highlight racial injustice? I don’t know. This movie would get a harsher review, except I know that I have to write about Firewall next. It stunk.

I’m a firm believer that Milla Jovovich is one of the most beautiful women alive, so when I say I really enjoyed Ultraviolet, there may be some bias there. I also think Cameron Bright is a creepy kid, but this role needed that, I guess, and he did well at it. Nick Chinlund is one of my favorite underrated actors of all time. He has an incredible control over his demeanor and is amazingly expressive with his face. This role actually takes advantage of that.

Well, The Ring was creepy as all Hell… The Ring Two was, well, not so creepy. Don’t get me wrong, David Dorfman is a super-creepy kid period, I just felt that Gore Verbinski got the first one right.

I love Pixar. I’ve loved every movie they’ve ever made. Cars started out slow, but was a great story and very well made.

Another catchup is Denzel Washington and Clive Owen’s suspense/action/drama thriller, Inside Man. While it didn’t keep one guessing too much, it was fun to watch. Acting talent was very good and the writing too was decent.

Saw this a while ago, but forgot to mention it. Great movie. Well-written. Well-acted. Lots of nice explosions, etc. Hugo Weaving did an impressive job behind the mask, and Natalie Portman was commendable in her role as well.

Anything with Ving Rhames is at least decent, generally, and Animal is no exception. A little thick on the blame-the-white-man-for-our-problems, but still a good story with good acting.

Eh… Decent movie. Good portrait of why an awful lot of American women suck. A relevant quote: “[American women] have issues with their weight. And, when that desire is suppressed for style and deprivation allowed to rule: dieting, exercising American women become afraid of everything associated with being curvaceous, such as wantonness, lustfulness, sex, food, motherhood..all that is good in life.”

I would hope that putting Al Pacino and Matthew McConaughey in the same movie as Rene Russo and Armand Assante would make a stupid-amazing movie. It might, but Two for the Money isn’t it. It seemed like a great movie… it FELT like a great movie… and then suddenly it turned into this preachy self-discovery babblefest. Literally, the movie deconstructed itself… Rent it if you’d like…
