Trades that nasty console window for a feather in the system tray

Known Bugs (unplanned features):

  • The right-click popup menu "sticks." It's a modal form problem that I haven't invested the time in to solve. It you click on another running application or the Start button, it ususally goes away.
  • The Wrapper does not look for other instances of Apache (or itself), so you can have multiple instances running. Although initially unplanned, this "feature" will not be removed, so that people running multiple servers can also have multiple Apache's.

Misc. Stuff

  • It has been brought to my attention that the "Stop Apache" option does not work in 1.3.22 . Upon further inspection, it has been revealed that it DOES work. What happens is that after telling Apache to shutdown, Apache Wrapper quits, and form there, it is just up to Apache to shut itself down (this can take upwards of 30seconds). Apache finishes all current transactions, kills the PID file, and then exits properly-- 1.3.23 takes care of this pseudo-bug. read the Readme for details. It is recommended everyone upgrades to the latest version.
