Depressed because ThunderBird no longer lets you send an e-mail to "username", and makes you put "username@yourdomain.com"? Got too many address book entries to clean manually? Well, Thank Steve!
- Download ThankSteve
- Install ThankSteve
- Export your ThunderBird address book as an LDIF file
- Run ThankSteve
- Salt domain name to taste
- Drag the export file (from step 3) onto Steve
- Import the LDIF file into the ThunderBird address book.
- Thank Steve!
If you want to clean it up a bit, after the import:
- Select all entries in your personal address book (Ctrl-A) and delete them
- Select everything in the import and drag them up into the personal address book
- Delete the imported address book.
NOTE: I know the export/import sucks... If you've ever looked at the address book file for ThunderBird, you'll understand. *shudder*
NOTE2: The pic in ThankSteve is Steve's buddy icon. I'm not trying to make him look like a cyclops, he does it himself.
